Evening fundraisers wanted

Company: Tim Lilley Fundraising
Location: Reading
Benefits: £8 +Bonuses
Start: Immediate vacancies
Duration: 22½ hours per week

Description
We are looking for articulate and self-motivated individuals to visit members of the public at their homes on behalf of either:

* Action on Disability and Development
* Amnesty International (UK)
* Friends of the Earth
* Greenpeace
* Plan (UK)
* Shelter

The work
We believe you can initiate a lasting relationship between donor and charity using the simplest method of communication - one person speaking to another. We have been doing this without fanfare for twenty five years, and we have probably the best record in the business for securing long-term income for our clients.

You will work by yourself, in your own area, using our 'differentiated' approach: this means treating everyone as an individual with their own unique aims and concerns; we want them to feel in control; that the focus is on them as much as on the needs of the charity.

Our fundraising is unhurried, respectful, and non-invasive. It requires intelligence, assertiveness, commitment, and self-awareness. We provide a great deal of ongoing training to help you continually to develop these attributes in your own way. Part of the job is to attend regular training and support sessions (see our 'profile,' opposite, for more about this), which take place in London, Bristol, Birmingham or Oxford.

The weekly time commitment, both training and fundraising, is 22½ hours.

The Pay
Initially, we pay £8 per hour, plus bonuses, for five evenings and a daytime support/training session (this works out at £180 per week minimum plus bonuses and expenses). We pay travel expenses to all training and meetings.

Most of our fundraisers soon move to full commission, enabling them to earn considerably more. We take pride in our work and are paid accordingly. We are not driven by high earnings, but are committed to find loyal supporters - upon whom each NGO can rely and budget for years to come.

Requirements
You need to be articulate with fluent English and good interpersonal skills. Ideally, you will be educated to degree level or equivalent.

We provide full training and ongoing support. You must be over 18 and have a full UK Work Permit and a UK National Insurance number. Unfortunately, we cannot employ applicants with a Student Visa only.
