Health and Safety Officer (Seasonal) £15K-£19K pa pro-rata
To help us through the peak season we need additional Health and Safety Officers, to assure the safety of our clients and staff to the high levels of our reputation. This is a key role with up to 60 staff reliant on you, so that they can deliver safe, adventurous, exciting and inspiring activities to our clients here in the Lake District. If you can clearly demonstrate the high levels of knowledge and experience required in this role, have excellent people skills, and can be a great role model, then we would like to hear from you.

Requirements
Essential Requirements:
· Affinity for and understanding of the Health and Safety issues required in a busy Outdoor Adventure Residential Centre.
· Competence in training, assessing and developing others in the safe performance of their duties others to lead outdoor activities
· Willing to develop their own capabilities and qualifications as required in the role
· Appropriate NGB qualifications
· A high level of interpersonal skills and team values
· Excellent communicator
· Excellent organisational skills
· Excellent and proven logistical and IT skills
· To be able to work as part of a team and independently
· First Aid qualified
· To work within centre policies and procedures
· Driving License
· To be able to respect the ethos of the YMCA and uphold its values
Desirable Requirements
· Experience in a similar role
· Experience and/or qualifications in general Health & Safety, e.g. PPE assessment. IOSH, NEBOSH, CIEH
· The experience and ability to train/assess others in First Aid
