Activity Leader

Description
We are currently recruiting fun, enthusiastic, friendly people to work in our summer language centres.

The Activity Leader is responsible for the smooth and successful delivery of the activities programme. The role of the AL is pivotal to the promotion and delivery of the activity programme, ensuring students are well motivated and all activities are run to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

* To be enthusiastic and motivated in delivering the activity programme.
* To ensure students attend the set activities and attendance records are accurate
* To prepare and pack up each activity session, ensuring all equipment is returned and reporting any damage to the RPM
* To play a pivotal role in guiding and organising students on excursions
* To assist the Centre Director in opening and closing the centre, and accounting for the return of all equipment at the end of the course
* To assist the RPM in maintaining student discipline, safety and welfare whilst on duty
* To carry out residential duties on a rota basis, including meal supervision, lights out duties, room checks and additional duties as required
* Applicants holding specialist qualifications will be required to undertake duties such as pool duties / sports coaching and first aid provision*

* Increments will be paid to staff who hold relevant qualifications and / or take on extra AL duties – please refer to 2008 salary table for details

Requirements
Personal Specification:

ESSENTIAL:
* Ability to motivate and enjoy working with large groups of children / teenagers
* Excellent communication skills and excellent level of fluency in English
* Enthusiasm and team player
* 18 years of age or over
* Excellent organisation skills

RECOMMENDED:

* Previous experience working with children / teenagers
* Competent sportsperson with excellent knowledge of rules and organization of sports / games
* First Aid qualification*
* Previous summer school experience
* Experience and interest in related subjects e.g. sports, drama, arts and crafts etc
* Lifeguard / Coaching qualification*
