In the space of 6 weeks in the Summer of 2012, Leisure Support Services have the opportunity to work at Wimbledon, and the chance for you to get involved in the biggest sporting summer ever.
 
The Wimbledon Championships will be held in June and July, and once again we will see the grounds of SW19 packed for the world’s most prestigious tennis event.
 
3 weeks later, the greatest sporting festival in the world is coming to Britain, and we will once again be involved to deliver a memorable experience to the millions of guests at the 2012 tennis events.

We will also be working at other 2012 venues including Earls Court, Excel, Lords, City of Coventry Stadium, and Bus and Fleet Depots. Please indicate your second preferences of venue as we might offer you work at one of these venues after you finish with us at The Championships.

Reporting to the Event Management, the Machinery Supervisor will:

  • Be the first point of call when a machine used on site needs maintenance.
  • Liasing with the Housekeeping team in regards to machines that are used in each specific area. 
  • Manage a staff team responsible for ensuring machines used on site are clean, fit and ready to use.
  • Provide guidance to team members on how to use machines in the appropriate way. 
  • Ensure standards and adherences to procedures are maintained.
  • Comply with all relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Liaising with engineers.
  • Inventory checks and putting into place effective measures to maintain standards.
  • Liaising with the Stock Controller.
  • Training staff in machinery maintenance.
  • Returning all equipment at the end of The Championships to specific location.
  • Working order of the Loading Bay Area where the main machinery is kept.

Requirements

The requirements of this position include:

  • Taking instruction from management.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Working as part of a team.
  • Being punctual and presentable.
  • Good knowledge of working machines.
  • Ability to lead and use effective communication within a team environment.
  • Must have a Full UK driving license.

  • Be enthusiastic and encouraging.
  • Work well under pressure.
  • Work hard and effectively.
  • Have previous experience in cleaning machines is desirable.
