JCA is one of the fastest growing providers of school residential and day activity centres, predominantly to primary schools. Operating a total of 13 centres across the UK, the centres provide a great value proposition to schools, and can be tailored to individual requirements.
The business has recently invested in a multi million-pound development and have successfully enhanced the existing facilities of Condover Hall.

This exceptional centre and location is the flagship site to deliver an unforgettable learning experience to both students and teachers alike. You will be responsible for the running of the on-site retail facilities, Primarily Gift Shop, Bar and Coffee Shop to meet company’s targets and policies.

The aim of the retail supervisor is to maximise profit whilst minimising costs. Retail supervisors will ensure promotions are accurate and merchandised to the company’s standards, staff are fully versed on the target for the period and excellent customer care standards are met.

Responsibilities

  • General responsibilities
  • Day to day running of retail facilities
  • Stock Control and management
  • Analysing sales figures and forecasting future sales volumes to maximise profits
  • Analysing and interpreting trends to facilitate planning
  • Using information technology to record sales figures, for data analysis and forward planning
  • Work with suppliers to secure deals and promotions
  • Reviewing the retails operation regularly, talking to colleagues and customers, and identifying or resolving urgent issues
  • Managing and motivating a team to increase sales and ensure efficiency
  • Complete financial reconciliation for retail facilities
  • Ensuring standards for quality, customer service and health and safety are met
  • Organising special promotions, displays and events
  • Updating colleagues on business performance, new initiatives and other pertinent issues

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Enthusiastic and proactive individual
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with ability to build relationships at all levels
  • Hands on, can do attitude
  • Ability to work with little supervision and willing to take on responsibility when required
  • High level of organisational skills with ability to multi task
  • Strong communicator, written and verbal, adapting approach to match audience
  • Excellent time management
  • Eye for detail
  • Have understanding of retail laws
  • Have bar experience and ideally a Personal Licence
  • Used to working in a pressurised environment
  • Proven experience in a similar role or previous retail experience
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
