Isle of Jura, Scotland

Benefits:
£6.08/hour; approx 40-50 hours per week; accommodation provided

Start:
April 2012

Duration:
October 2012

Description

Experienced waiting staff required
Servers required to wait tables in our restaurant, lounge bar and pub.
You will also help in the preparation of lunches and desserts.
Accommodation is provided and as rooms are limited, it is useful (but not necessary) if you apply with a partner or friend interested in one of our other roles.
We are looking for a waiter(ess) who will also do a few cleaning shifts each week - cleaning the hotel guest bedrooms, changing linen and doing some laundry.

Requirements

We're looking for waiting staff who are genuinely motivated to go the extra mile for customers and who are friendly, easy-mannered and able to develop great rapports with customers. This is not a posh place so we're not looking for silver-service style, but you should take pride in your work and be committed to delivering excellent customer service.

Previous experience in the service industry is required as well as high levels of energy, an infallible work ethic, ability to work to own initiative, excellent team-working skills, ability to muti-task and keep cool in a hectic environment, good humour and fluent English.

Please insert a photo into your CV and send with your application.

About us

The Isle of Jura, in the Inner Hebrides, is the place to get away from it all – it is a breathtakingly beautiful and calm place, which suits many people but doesn’t suit others! There is one pub (in the hotel), one shop, 6000 deer and 200 inhabitants. Everyone is genuinely very friendly and sociable but if you like to spend your weekends at nightclubs or the shops, this is not the place for you. On the other hand if you love the outdoors, walking, cycling and being in the fresh air, this could suit you perfectly.

The Jura Hotel is the only hotel on the island of Jura. As it holds the only pub on this island of only 200 people, the hotel is one of the focal points of island life.

The hotel has seventeen bedrooms which are sold on a bed-and-breakfast basis. During the busy summer months we serve up to 80 covers each evening.

The hotel is owner-managed by a young couple and employs a team of up to twenty-five full- or part-time staff.  Accommodation is provided in or near the hotel.
