Job Details

  • Prepare a range of high standard wholesome and delicious meals within the allocated kitchen budget.
  • Continental buffet-style breakfast, packed lunch menu, staff evening meal and limited evening meals for clients.
  • Manage the kitchen budget and minimise expenditure and control wastage.
  • Monitor stock levels and place all necessary orders.
  • Ensure kitchen and storage areas are clean and safe, meeting statutory health and safety requirements.
  • Provide supervision and training in kitchen hygiene standards and health and safety to all staff involved in food preparation and kitchen/restaurant cleaning.
  • Responsible for shopping for kitchen supplies by delivery or physically driving and shopping.
  • Work well within the team with a hands-on attitude to help to cover all aspects of the hotel operation, if required.

What we are looking for:

  • Possession of an EU or UK passport. (For UK nationals working in France we now have to obtain a work permit on your behalf and a visa, unless you have a Carte de Sejour. / Titre de Sejour.  All staff will be on a French contract.)
  • Must be fully vaccinated (with proof).
  • Catering qualification and a current food hygiene certificate would be an advantage.
  • Previous experience in kitchens and hospitality.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and time-management skills.
  • Previous experience in mentoring/training teams desirable.
  • French language skills desirable. Fluent English required.
  • Full clean UK/EU driving licence is advantageous and experience of driving overseas/mountains is desirable
